New Church Incubator Sites
-
The Twin Cities will grow by over 1,000,000 people from 2000-2030.
-
Land in the Twin Cities will become scarcer or too expensive for new churches to buy and build new buildings.
-
Hundreds of Twin Cities churches are expected to die over the next few years.
How can we plant new churches in the Twin Cities
to reach new generations of people including
the large influx of new immigrants?
City Vision has seen these trends and realities and we see a great solution for future Kingdom Building in the Twin Cities. The answer: New Church Incubator Sites.
Let me explain how this works. Many churches are slowly dying and will die over the next few years and yet they don't want to sell their building for money. They want their church to continue to be used by God for Kingdom purposes. Many of these churches know that if they give their church to their denomination that they will also sell it for money and their church will cease to be used by God as a church site. Even if your church wants to sell their building to another church this can take years to accomplish and there is no guarantee that another church will in fact buy the church. In fact, in the Twin Cities, we know of several churches that were sold and now function as Muslim mosques, Hindu temples, and other religious sites that have contrary belief systems that oppose Christianity. So what is the solution to this dilemma?
The solution that we've come up with at City Vision is simple. We see Four options for you in this situation:
Contact us and we can find a church or churches to rent or buy your church building or we can work with you on other creative solutions for continued Kingdom Building using your church as a ministry site.
Give City Vision your church building as a gift and we can then in turn give it to another church or churches. This releases your church from fighting over this issue and we can take care of all the legal paperwork involved with a minimum time and effort on your part. We as a third party neutral Christian entity can help this be a positive experience for your church in this transition rather than a problem that divides your congregation.

Sell your building and give City Vision the funds and we will put them into a Church Planting Foundation fund that will ensure that your money will be used to plant many new churches in the future. Sometimes this is the best option for your church depending on the location and current state of the church building. But the Kingdom will still grow because of your legacy that you leave in this manner.
Sell your building and use the funds to set up your own Christian foundation. We can put you in touch with others who can make this a reality legally with little effort and time on your part.
To date, we have worked with churches in all four scenarios and we expect to work with hundreds of churches in all these solutions over the next few years.
City Vision has a plan to see 500 new churches planted in the Twin Cities area over the next 10 years and we see these four solutions listed above as part of that plan. We see hundreds of new immigrant, ethnic, and emergent churches being started with this strategy and we want you to join us in this church planting movement plan for Kingdom Building. Let us know if your church is interested in exploring any of these options with a City Vision staff member.
Church incubators are for everyone
Also, even if your church is not dying, we challenge you to think of your church building as a church planting incubator site where you share your building with a new church. According to our research only 65% of churches in the Twin Cities area own their own building. 22% of churches meet in a church building that they do not own. In fact, over 300 churches in the Twin Cities share their building with 1-5 other churches using their church building. Contact us at City Vision and we can find a church to share your building. We get calls every day like this and we would like to offer you this service as well. We can act as the matchmaker for you and build the Kingdom together through our networks.
